Food waste had always been a problem that haunt all the communities in Malaysia. It is known that about 1/3 of the food produced was thrown and not utilize. Most of the waste became landfill and no one seemed to care much about it. 

 

So we founded a team named Interactive Biophilist to propose a design that could deliver solution to reduce the tendency of food waste with additional value of improving the life quality for all. Ultimately, we strongly believe that food security will become one of the key for a nation to prosper. 

 

Our proposal is INTER-FARM-MARKET. The main intention is to create an ecosystem that includes all aspects of farming under one roof, like: incubating, farming, harvesting, transporting, researching and retailing. By having all in one facility, we will be able to oversee the distribution of food from the farm right to the end user. We believe that this will greatly decrease the food waste percentage.

 

 

Besides, we aim to refurbish our nation local market into this interesting and productive facility where people could get fresh crops directly from the farm itself. Rather than just a single function market, it could provide a chain of service that support the whole agriculture line. This would make the role of market become diversify and much interesting. It even can customize to customers need on which crops they need. It's going to be a very interactive, two ways kind of public facilities for all!

Our vision is to make the typology a modular one in order to disperse it around the nation. By then, we could become one of the pioneer nation in achieving food security!
