On a hot summer day, our heroes Manu and his adolescent elephant buddy Ranjan are sitting on the sidewalk, starving and broke. As a gush of wind lands a crumbled newspaper on Manu’s face, he notices the article in the front page that reports about a thieving duo looting banks across town, causing great havoc on the police and the city itself. Seeing this, Manu is inspired to rob a bank themselves and make it big! In an fascinating chain of events MANU Ranjan DAILY is a delightful allegory of the bizarre and the unexpected.
MANU Ranjan DAILY is a shot Stop Motion Animation film, made by the students of National Institute of Design, as a part of their Design Project Film. The idea behind the film was to venture the fantastic medium of Stop Motion using minimal investment, recycling everyday objects to create sets and puppets and tell a story from the heart. The entire film, from conception till completion was achieved in a tight schedule of 6 weeks.
