Part 1: Pitch
For my summative activity, I have decided to create a short digital animation that does not use lip-syncing and focuses more on utilizing the character's actions and the things happening around him to convey a story. I will be using Adobe Flash and a Wacom Tablet in creating the animation. The animation will be done in 2's to save some time. I plan to use some of the principles of animation, such as exaggeration, anticipation, timing and appeal.
Plot Points:
- the animation starts with a person shown to be looking at the sky
- the person sits down, closes his eyes and feels the breeze of the wind
- the person looks at his watch
- he stands up starts walking home
- the scene shows his house and him as he goes inside it
- the day passes by from evening to night time
- the character is shown to be in his bedroom, getting ready to sleep
- he looks at the sky one last time before sleeping
- screen fades to black
- the scenes show a close-up shot of the character's face, with his eyes wide open
- camera zooms out, showing that the person is in some sort of control room
- the scene changes and a ship is now on the screen
- the ship travels in space for some time, passing by planets and stars alike
- the ship sudenly crashes into something unknown and explodes after a couple of seconds
- the character is shown to be falling after the explosion
- he stops falling midair and grows wings
- he starts flying around until he hits a cloud
- he tries to get himself out of the cloud and once he does, he wakes up from his dream
