NOOK celebrates independent makers hidden in the nooks of the world. This issue explores the work of Becca Allen, James Kamo, Hannah Lawrence and Francli, all based in Cornwall.
Dedicated to learning about the worlds of each maker and getting to know their personalities NOOK explores each makers’ mark. The marks that set them apart in their field of craft and the marks that portray their personalities throughout each object. Each maker is interviewed and then created a set of marks that are used to decorate their pages, expressing their personalities through every aspect of the magazine. This puts more of a focus onto how the makers themselves want to be represented.
The idea for this magazine stemmed from the realisation that there are amazing craftspeople, artists and designers everywhere. Looking for your local makers to scout out new finds can be the most rewarding, story filled adventure you can have.
We appreciate raw independent craft, made with hands that have hundreds of stories to tell. This issue of NOOK is dedicated to the makers of Cornwall.
