Z A G R O S ___M O U N T A I N S
The Zagros Mountains is form the largest mountain range in Iran, Iraq and Eastern Turkey. This mountain range has a total length of 1,500 km (932 mi). The Zagros mountain range begins in northwestern Iran and roughly corresponds to Iran's western border, and it spans the whole length of the western and southwestern Iranian plateau, ending at the Strait of Hormuz. The highest point in the Zagros Mountains is Dena. These mountains are regarded assacred by the Kurds.

Mount Damāvand, is a stratovolcano which is the highest peak in Iran and the Middle East as well as the highest volcano in Asia.
 
With it’s 5,670 meters (18,598 feet) on the highest point Damavant is visible from more than 300km from airplane.
