This publication discusses the rationale behind the choice of topic, discussing the relationship between 
global/technological/cultural change, and design. WIth theory and case studies, it analyzes the changing
landscape of design, the role of design in society, and the obligations of designers. 

As a possible solution, emotional durability is then discussed, finally introducing the burgeoning field of
Design Anthropology as a call to action. Chapter 3 also includes relevant theories and methods of this
field, with projects, articles and concepts by various practicing design anthropologists and design researchers.
Each method is provided with an example of how it can be valuable to the process and practice of design, and
how it can be developed and adapted into each project.
