Brief: This module is intended to expose us to a wide range of visual traditions and their illustrative fields of communication. Observation, analysis,research methodologies and creative problem-solving strategies will be core practice to this study. Alongside, with the practice of fundamental traditional and digital skills, and art & design principles such as colour,composition, shape, form and texture. we will respond to a number of projects that will develop your strategies and skills for generating and recording ideas. Through these projects we will cultivate your awareness of a range of ‘visual languages’ and develop our visual communication skills.
Part One: we undertook a primary research exercise at Paignton Zoo and gathered observations in the form of notes, drawings & photographs.Secondary research was conducted to back-up and influence the initial findings.Idea generation, research and exploration thoroughly analysed and recorded in our blog and sketchbook.We also took part in a number workshops that introduced us to idea generation techniques, technical processes and introductions to relevant design methods and methodologies. Through each of these workshops we were also introduced to design concepts that can be explored and presented as graphic outcomes. 
Part Two: We selected (from a hat) one of the businesses listed below and consider how you might brand these utilising the characteristics of a particular animal (selected from your research): Fancy Dress Hire shop our symbol solutions must be based on animal references collected. we also used this research to develop an appropriate name for the business.
