I think the first I thing I ever made was an Estes Rocket.
I sketched the design. I agonized over the name of it. I painted ridiculous things on it.

I took this thing of mine, ran it over to the park with my dad, brother and dog in tow.
With excited little digits, I hit the launch button.

It ignited–just like it did in my dreams.
It burned a 14-foot in diameter hole in the ground–just like my dad said it would.

It pierced the air into the stratosphere of Evanston with a high-pitched whistle before the chute opened and majestically started floating back to earth.
Then a gust came. And started blowing my “Little Flyer” or whatever horrific name I gave it, onto the next block. Then the next zip code. Then…gone. Never to be launched again.

It was then I learned the inherent joy of creating things, getting them out into the world, letting them go and then moving on to make more things.
And that’s what I've been doing ever since. Be it ads, music, films and even rockets, I make things. And love doing it.

PLACES I’VE MADE THINGS FOR
FREELANCE (8/15 to Present)
CREATIVE DIRECTOR/COPYWRITER

After a very long, quite lovely full-time stint, I decided to unearth the world of freelance. Very quickly I came to understand the idea of making things and letting them go. So far, it’s agreeing with me, having made things for the fine folks at OKRP, VML, FCB, Havas, Sponge,  C-K, Leviathan and Wunderman.

CRAMER-KRASSELT (1/00-8/15)
ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR/COPYWRITER
How? Where? Why? How long was that again? That’s what I hear when people would see the amount of time I spent at one agency. My answer? I was making work I loved the entire time with some pretty amazing people. I wrote. Creative Directed. Presented. Wrote decks. Created a ton of content. And ate a lot of late night Chipotle.

RAPP COLLINS (7/98-12/99)

Everyone starts somewhere. Here I learned the art of writing long copy, worked on the Wall Street Journal “Adventures In Capitalism” campaign and got the first assignment that truly pushed my creativity–timesheets.
CLIENTS I MADE THINGS WITH
Porsche, Ace Hardware, Cedar Fair, Knott’s Berry Farm, Corona, Ore-Ida, Heinz, Sealy Posturepedic, AirTran Airways, Hyatt, Turtle Wax, Popeye’s, Moen, Sauder.
AWARDS FOR THINGS I’VE MADE
One Show, Addy, FWA Site of the day, CA site of the day, Webby, Print, Obie, Effies, Echo and Caples.
THINGS I USE TO MAKE THINGS
On top of a smattering of word processing apps, I've also dabbled in Logic, Garageband, Photoshop, In-Design and a few other programs I know just enough to be dangerous on.
