    Fortoona is a branding proposal for a mexican Collectible toy company. The vision of the company is to create a unique box around your favourite action figure. FORTOONA
 
Fortoona is a branding proposal for a mexican Collectible toy company. The vision of the company is to create a unique box around your favourite action figure. The box will also contain extra goodies that match your selection, furthermore, to enhance the experience of recieving your collectible you also recieve signed items and exclusive merch.

The logo was inspired by the imagery of ouija boards and mystical symbols, helping to give the brand a cult feeling (whose members are toy collectors). and the box like an iniciation present to this cult. The team (full of geeks) wanted it to be less obvious in our designs and we did not want them to become child-like. These are toys for young adults, these are collectibles, part of a real engagement between the customer and say, their favorite movie, show or game. We wanted it to be magical yet capture an air of seriousness.

We created a unique branding set for this project, based on the illustrations of the British Artist/Illustrator, Blair Frame. We manage to create a classic yet modern system inspired by illuminati symbols, comic books and the art of Doré (this last inspiration being at the request by the client). The collage style from Blair gave us the textures and backgrounds needed to create the perfect combination of these unusual/diverse styles. The final result is  bright and colorful but captures a feeling of the occult. We wanted to be as far away from the minimalistic asthetic that seems to be a staple of the branding world right now. We hope this project created with Fortoona shows a new and fresh point of view on visual communication.

The Fortoona Branding was build by not playing by the rules, by venturing to bold new places, showing where branding can go. We are so proud of this project and we wanted to show it to the world. The project displays a young adults love and apreciation for toys, and we had the 'fortoona' to be part of it.
