Because band shirts are expensive, I decided to create my own designs and screen-print them onto blank T-Shirts.

Jeff Rosenstock live show T-Shirt design

 

Using a live show picture and the live trace tool, I cleaned up an image of Jeff and placed his name in a cool font on the top-right.

Cap'n Jazz 'Schmap'n Shmazz' Typography T-Shirt design

 

Since I found the unnecessarilly long title of their sole studio album amusing and definite T-Shirt material, I set out to create a design using the title and band name.

Flipper Logo T-Shirt design

 

Simply using the live trace tool on a Google Image of the band logo and cleaning up the letters, I created this design for one of the shirts.

A little more difficult than the others, I had to expand the live trace and select individual paths from the traced cover, recolor some, and delete the rest.  I really like how it turned out and feel like it creates a nice feel for the design.

Pet Sounds-inspired Animal Collective T-Shirt design

 

As AnCo is constantly compared to Beach Boys on their Pet Sounds album, and with the 50th anniversary of that album approaching, I decided to create a design that synthesized their look in the music video for "My Girls" (their "hit") and the poses for the Pet Sounds cover.  The animals from the original cover were left realistic, much like the instruments in the music video, while Avey Tare, Panda Bear, and Geologist appear as they do in video, but in the poses of the Beach Boys.  The background also mimics a scene in the video.  Overall, I'm proud of this design and will wear it as such.
