This project was a challenge to myself to take the outdoorsy aesthetic of Abercrombie & Fitch, and translate it to a more high-end aesthetic and clientele. Mostly comprised of separates in vintage outdoor-wear inspired colors, the pieces are practical and versatile, but still have a whimsical femininity to them. I took the hot-pink color from the logo on the mood-board and spun that into everything from piping on skirts, to dyed-leather blanket stitch trim and the rolled hem and fringe on a headscarf. The highlight of the looks is the vegan-leather minidress with sweater knit sleeves and baseball-stitching on the princess seams. This dress strikes a balance between feminine modernity and the legacy camping outfitter DNA of Abercrombie.
