When a person passes on into the afterlife, the memories of him or her as kept alived by others are embedded in small intimate pieces. Embedded deep in one’s mind, these pieces are slowly altered through the course of time. One person’s recount often varies from the other, yet each cumulates to an intangible but beautiful collection of intimate details about the deceased.

 

The second phase of this project is a compilation of stories, of the editor’s grandparents, from his relatives. These are then reinterpretated - as with all memories - with his imagination of how things would have looked like then. This series of illustrations serves as not just a physical tribute to the fading recollections of the elders, but as well as a keepsake to be passed on in the future as an extension of the familial narrative.
