Tokyo Zoo Logo Development

This project was created for my Logos and Symbols course for Full Sail Online. I was told to create a logo for the Tokyo Zoo that embraced the local culture and simply conveyed the fact that it was for a zoo.
My first round of concept sketches.
My second round of revised concept sketches. These revisions were made based on feedback acquired from both my instructor and fellow peers.
I finally widdled down my final logo decision to sketch number 4 from my previous sketches. I was then required to create 10 different styles of the same concept. Although the presentation changed, the overall story surrounding the logo was to stay the same.
My final round of concept sketches.
My final logo was taken from the idea behind sketch number 10 in my final round of concept sketches. I felt that this logo was versatile and conveyed my intended message efficiently. The shape of the elephants head is also derived from the official symbol for the Tokyo Metropolitan Area.
