Transactional Processing System in Hexalis software

Transactional Processing System in Hexalis software
At AGFA Healthcare Enterprise Solutions, I have worked on the developpement of a LIMS software named Hexalis for the organisation of flow production of biological analysis by clinical laboratories. I have participated at the definition of requirements for the compatibility with DMP, the analysis of process in Sesam-Vitale 1.40, the determination of rate repayments to health insurance companies, the upgrading of information data exchange on electronic health records and the optimization of setup procedures from analyzers to laboratory information system.

This web application have been build on multiples programming languages C/C++ and Java/J2EE. The interconnexion with automatons used many device drivers, the reading Vitale API is provided in C, the quality control module is developped with many JQuery methods and the IHE component is based on the Laboratory Technical Framework.

The transactional processing system is a project scheduled in 2010. According to a RHEL 3.0 environment and a Oracle 10gR2 database, we have implemented a centralized cache with semaphores for read/write operations and shared memory for each data type. But we have searched some other technical solutions to improve performance in a real time application. In Oracle WebLogic Server 8.1, the load balancing of multi data source have been implemented via the round-robin algorithm. With memcached 1.4.5 and libmemcached 0.40, the cache system is defined from a hash table distributed on a pool of memcached servers for having high availability and scability.
