Pill-box - Medicine reminder

The Verma Household:
Grandmother, Grandfather, Mother, Father, two children

Areas for intervention:
1. Grandmother forgets to take her medicines on time.
2. Grandfather is too old to remind her.
3. Working parents are not around during the day and this worries them.
4. Children are too young to understand what’s wrong.

Solution scenario:
1. A device which parents fill with medicines every weekend and set a clock/reminder.
2. 5 mins before set time, alarm goes off.
3. Grandma shuts alarm.
4. Pills are dispensed on pressing a button.
5. Parents are notified via email/sms.
6. If button is not pressed 10 mins after the alarm sets off, parents are notified and a louder alarm is sounded.
7. Children are trained to check on Grandma when louder alarm is sounded to see if she is ok.

How it works:
1. The Pill-box has 8 pill compartments arranged radially inside. It also has a removable tray to store spectacles, keys and other miscellaneous items.
2. Each compartment houses a different set of pills.
3. At the set time the reminder goes off and the LED's glow above the required pill compartments.
4. Tapping the lid once shuts off the reminder.
5. Compartment opens on pressing once and the corresponding LED goes off.
6. The Pill-box is programmable through an app.
