Raymond Chandler
This is a project I created firstly to enter one cover for a competition for penguin and then I loved creating it so developed covers for some more of the series. In order to create the covers I read all the books and watched the movies. It struck me that there was a diferent gun mentioned in every book and particular objects to each one. I took four of these objects to create the pattern for each cover. I also became a big Raymond Chandler fan, I love the descriptive language he uses and couldnt help myself at times describing people like he does in the books. "It was Nulty this time. His voice sounded full of baked potato" "It was a little gun, it looked like a small Colt vest pocket automatic"( Farewell my lovely).
I used Photoshop for design and Illustrator to create the illustrations.
