Portuguese architect - Sérgio Marafona - has used the polyurethane foam proprieties in order to create a light weight pendant round shaped lamp.

The poly-lamps by Sérgio Marafona combine the weight of the foam material with the boldness of the round shape. It's meant to be read as a basic, round, heavy but simple shape attached to the ceiling. It's completely made of foam and It's diameter is around the size of a basket ball. The intent is for the semi-hidden bulb that's emerged into the concave cone shape to be the star detail of the object.

There are currently two versions of this lamp: black and white.

The author pretends to keep exploring this light weight material and come up with more complex shapes and styles in order to keep creating heavy-looking but light lamp pendants.
