This project is a COLLAB with another artist, Cynlie Wang. Once her website is up, I will provide a link.

Made completely out of natural substances like leaves, twigs, bark and flowers, me and another artist, Cynlie Wang, as taken our passion and enjoyment of Japanese cuisine to a new level. Imitating the maki and handroll, these small scale creations are great substitutions in a world where such delicacies don't exist.

Without a doubt, many things imitate and resemble other things if you look closely. We had found that the smooth bark look like tofu skins, while the inner branch skeleton can pass off as avacados. The leaves surface texture is very similar to the texture of edamame beans.

Photographing this on wooden textures can really bring out the details.
Close up of the "Maki" sushi. There are variations of different types of sushi you may find in a regular japanese restaurant. Try identifying them!
Close up of the "Handroll" sushi. It is tied together with a subtle piece of grass "seaweed".
A picture of them next to Cynlie's finger. This should give you a sense of how big these are.
