The series are inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins of Catholicism. Metaphors are used to depict the troubles of modern people suffering in their everyday lives. It shows the negative aspect of human beings’ personalities.
Pride
In this picture, compared with the sear flower, the fresh flower represents Pride.
Envy
The sumi brush represents one’s talent. The twisted iron spikes are implied the resistance or barrier to stop one’s talent shined, so called“Envy.”
Wrath
The wrecked brush represents the result when someone is in fury. Wrath can destroy everything.
Sloth
The fork’s duty is to provide services during eating but now it is lying down comfortably. I use this posture to represent Sloth.
Greed
The big mouth still opens widely even it is stitched. Desires can’t be fulfilled forever. How greedy it is.
Gluttony
One small bowl with so much rice is definitely Gluttony.
Lust
The shape of stamen surrounded by petals expresses the Lust of mankind.
