Design 1
We were to create a motif after researching historic sources. I was inspired by old quilt patterns and their potential for variance with only a small manipulation of design. With this, I decided to put my motif into a tessellation system; which is a repeating pattern of geometric shapes with no overlapping.
This pattern takes on a more flattened look resembling a quilt much more the my other version. I love how pleasing it is to look at. There is not much chaos even though some of the tiles have a marble effect.
Here is the pattern in context as a building wrap. It really adds life and personality to the environment.
