Design for Richardson & Starling

Richardson & Starling are the largest property maintenance and preservation compamny in Scotland. As such, the client understood very well the danger of over selling the point, having had a website that was vastly too large and complex in the past. The copy has a professional but friendly tone. An impotant point about this Home page was that it was to function as a high impact landing point for the various service and location pages. Now, this might seem like a pretty obvious point, but this company had the issue of having so many different services and locations - but not wanting to force users to plough through more than a few pages to reach the information they want.
The location pages are an aspect I like a lot about this project. In the first instance, there were a dozen locations. This meant that I had to write individual pages for each location whilst being careful not to write duplicate content. Ultimately, this wasn't as tiring as you might expect: I advised the client that they would need to set up a Google Plus listing for each branch. Correspondingly, I decided that the location pages should be tied to these G+ accounts and act as miniature Home pages. With a set of action pods, a map, directions and a differently worded description of the business on each page, I'd made what could have been quite boring an interesting part of the site. This client has since informed me that the site works very well, and has consequently purchased five other websites from the company for their sister businesses.
