Wood Work
Refuse Re-use Exhibition
So the work is coming together nicely now. None of the paintings are completely finished yet, but were getting there.

As you can see, I am also working on a 3D piece. I am hoping to have a few of these in the exhibition. They are make from recycled lampshades, which i am using as frames which I weave string and twine through to make nest/bird cage forms. I am then hanging various objects from the wires, representing the collecting and nest making processes involved in making one's home.

Just come back from the Shaun Tan exhibition in Fremantle, which was very inspiring. I love his work and his suburban landscapes.

Made me think about my current landscape and societies nest making as a whole. Living here in Karratha, we live in a contrant building site, where our town is growing at the edges everyday, and huge rise buildings and roads, slowly are creeping out into the baron red bush land. It's almost like we are nest making as our town grows.  With this in mind, I think I may venture into doing some landscape paintings within this collection also, and see how they turn out.:)

I hope you like what you see so far, and I will keep you posted with my new pieces.
So eventually the paintings were completed and the exhibition opened.

It was a great turn out on the opening night and the show was a sell out.

Working on a new show in Perth at the moment.

I'll keep you posted with the new work. :)

Thank you for your interest :)
