"REady... to be a wire?" TEDx Verona Domitilla Ferrari

I was asked by Domitilla Ferrari to create a set of images to illustrate her speech "REady... to be a wire?" at TEDx Verona
We choose to use a simple color palette (red/white/black and grey with different degree of saturation), both for a clean and professional mood and  because this is the color palette used by TEDx and TED Talks. Then we worked on the dots motive: it's versatile and adaptable. A dot could be an atom, a node of a network, a really simple and minimal representation of a person, or a polka dot pattern. This motive enabled use to convey all the aspect that made the work of Domitilla unique: it is very professional but still very humane, with valuable insight but still a playful mood.

I draw illustrations made to convey the sense of what she was saying, iconic and easy to see both from the people in the theatre that from the ones watching the streaming or the videos afterwards.
We played with the different meaning of "cavo", that in Italian is both the wire and hollow container like a bucket
