I have started this new series when we painted three walls in the entrance of our apartment in black, which created a perfect miniature photo studio for my flower photography.

I enjoy photographing flowers on a dark background as an homage to the dutch masters from the 17th century. I like the drama it adds to my bouquets, and how the focus gets to the flowers themselves and to the styling around them.
