Designed to sit over the Potomac River as a memorial to the WWII soldier, the bridge is emblematic of peace.
Peace is determined by the process of adjustment between what people want to do and what people are willing
to do. It requires communication, consultation and negotiation. When common ground is found then peace and
balance exist. Equilibrium however is representational of no change occurring, showing that we cannot achieve
this for long in society due to the constant human interactions that result in conflict. Peace can be created but
will be lost only to be recreated again.
