Beneatha's clothing is more up to date or fashionable, through her own resourcefulness. At one time, she wears shorts which are clearly an old pair which had been worn out at the knee, knee socks, loafers, and a blouse. Her cocktail dress is probably a gift from George. When is dress is not required, she prefers to wear pants. The iro, buba, and headdress she receives from Asagai are burgundy colors, and the headdress is typical of those worn in traditional Nigerian weddings. Both Asagai and Beneatha share a color palette containing reds, Browns, and other earthy tones. Lena's clothing is good quality, but faded and out of date. She has two pairs of shoes, sturdy, "nice" loafers, as well as a broken in pair. She wears a trustworthy cardigan when she goes out. Ruth hasn't shopped for herself in a while, evidenced by her fading dresses and blouses. Travis wears Walters old jacket, along with the normal shirts and pants (which have been taken up so they can be let out next year. George wears the most up to date fashions, often absurdly or without taste. Walter wears functional clothes. His job requires a uniform or at least a cap. Asagai shares Beneatha's color scheme, which is taken from one of three colors of traditional Nigerian cloth. This color scheme is focused on reds, Browns and burgundy. Asagai wears these colors because of his heritage, and Beneatha has also adopted them to honor her heritage. Karl Linder wears nice suits, in cool colors to show he's very businesslike Read Less
