For Leeds Print Festival 2016, third year graphic design students were asked to each produce a square format print using an allocated G F Smith ColourPlan paper stock. The brief asked us to experiement with different printing processes, and the end result would show a colour spectrum of framed prints in an exhibition at Leeds Print Festival.

 

 

To produce a design that showcased the collaboration between Leeds College of Art students, G F Smith papers and Leeds Print Festival, I used the founding dates of all three establishments written in full, abstracted in calligraphic form to provide an interesting visual. Hand pulled screen prints on to Mandarin stock with metallic foil blocking.
