meridiano—research book

Editorial
meridiano lo squarcio sublime tra il sensibile e l'intelligibile is a book that investigates the social reality of Basilicata's territory. The book is an analysis tool which uses photography to reflect about the evolution and the transformation of the territory.
the research is divided in three parts. the first is a reconnaissance about the scenario of contemporary photographic practices; the second is a collection of different visions that have described the places of Lucania in the past, through a mapping of different approaches; the last part is a focus on the new areas of investigation about the photographic research in Basilicata. the goal of the project is to create a common thread of different memories that have contributed to build the contradictory and fragmentary identity of Lucania and South Italy.
