Compton, California native Kendrick Lamar released his third studio album To Pimp A Butterfly under Interscope Records in March of 2015. Lamar's album won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album of 2015.
The album contains political and personal themes related to race and culture. Lamar exploits his opinions to various African American issues in the United States. Lamar does not hold back with his thoughts which is why I pursued the concept of open mindedness.
