nonentity (non·en·ti·ty)

1. a person or thing with no special or interesting qualities; an unimportant person or thing.
2. nonexistence.
 
By definition, a nonentity has nothing to recommend it; it is itself nothing.  However, from nothing, or in this case the very banal, a fantastical word originates through sheer imagination.  This series of images is merely sand on the beach; one of the most common things on our planet.  No special effects were used in the production of the photographs, yet the viewer is transported to another world.  Interpretation is completely open to each person to understand the story as it relates to them, yet it holds a connection to the very beginning of time and form.   This series is designed to capture the essence of creativity, how from nothing, anything can be.
