In 2013. Vincek, one of the the most famous Croatian cake and pastry shops, decided to open a new location in the upcoming Zagreb neighbourhood Bundek, at a new development right next to the Zagreb Museum of Contemporary Art.
Their idea was to create a modern cafe and patisserie which would step away from the traditional interiors of their iconic locations in the city center, and bring a fresh feel to the brand.

Architect Anita Rusendic, a long term partner and consultant for the family Vincek, who has designed the interiors of their original locations from the beginnings of the brand, has decided to collaborate with Ruder Novak-Mikulic, a young and upcoming Croatian designer, to design the project.
The result is a minimalistic, but still warm and comfortable interior, featuring the works of young Croatian creatives and local design brands.

The space is defined by large vertical and horizontal surfaces, which create a very geometrical and clean visual impression.
The choice of natural materials, mainly solid wood, and the addition of artisanal solid wood chairs and hand blown glass pendants, give a warm contrast to the oversized geometry.

The interior features works of young Croatian designers; The hand blown glass pendants named Plami have been designed by Filip Havranek and Kristina Lugonja, and the chairs are an award winning design by Marija Ruzic and Ruder Novak-Mikulic for the brand Artisan.
The authors of the interior have also comissioned upcoming artist Nikica Jurkovic and graphic designer Luka Reicher to create visually light, abstract graphics that simbolize the sweets Vincek has become renowned for.
The illustrations have been applied on large scale canvases and are complementing the geometrical wooden panels.

The family-owned company Vincek has changed the cake and pastry image of Zagreb. The Vincek cake and pastry shop was the first to offer the famous Zagreb custard slices topped with whipped cream and high-quality chocolate.

Vincek was founded in 1977, and in almost 40 years of existence, the small family business started by the spouses Ankica and Stjepan Vincek has become the leading Croatian producer of pastries, cakes, fancy biscuits, chestnut puree, ice cream and other unique delicacies to order.

All Vincek products bear the Richemont mark for excellence in bakery and confectionery awarded by the Richemont club - an association of experts in bakery and confectionery.
