This project was made in collaboration with Global Tools in order to improve their website's bounce rate and conversion rate. The solution became a humoristic application with a widget, showing different man laws everytime the person looks at their phone, and allows for the person to swipe through different ones in the app. Furthermore, the client had received a content marketing and SEO analysis and an infographic of tips on how to improve it.

The project team consisted of myself and three other students

My main contribution were in project management, communication strategy, understanding their business model, ideation and interaction design.

Under here is a draft of visually documented parts of the process during the project work
Having undergone a thorough research into the business and their objectives, as well as having analyzed the target group, the market in terms of technology and the competitors, we created a SWOT frame, that illustrated the key findings that became the ground for the concept
To understand their current online marketing position underwent research into their content marketing and SEO to determine the best tactics to improve them, as well as adding to their business model with the new concepts being implemented.
The findings indicated that Global Tools should remember to fill no more than 99 characters in their URLS, fill out the meta descriptions and the alt tags in images. They should remember to make their backlinks do-follow links and to create clear call to actions in their AdWords campaigns.
With the idea of the app, it was crucial to understand how the users would interact with it. A flowchart was therefore created in order to ensure that each step in the interaction wouldn't take them somewhere where they'd get lost.
The mock-ups below illustrates the application and it's features
Start Screen:
When the users open the app, the logo/visual identity of Global Tools will be
shown on the loading screen for a few seconds. Thereby already introducing the users to
Global Tools.
Man Laws:
The first time when the user opens the application, he/she will be briefly introduced to Global
Tools by seeing a short quote from the company. There will be indicators, showing that
swipe is required in order to see the man laws and that there is an available widget.
There will be laws in the app entitled man laws. These laws will contain “rules”, “guidelines”,
“advice” and some jokes for the target group. This will be shown when the
target group open the app. They can swipe to change the laws if they want to see more or
are unsatisfied with what they are seeing.
Camera:
The camera feature in the phone has been implemented into the app as an
additional feature. With the camera the users can take a picture where a man law will be
displayed on top of it.
They can continue to save this picture and/or share it on social media. It will be shown that
the image was shared with the app. This will thereby help to spread the word of the app from
user to user, therefore increasing it’s popularity.
Info:
This is where Global Tools will be mentioned to the users. They will be informed that
the app is sponsored/hosted by Global Tools. They will then be invited to follow the facebook
page of Global Tools.
Themes:
When users download the app, they will have a neutral theme.
With the theme features they can choose between several available themes such as wooden
and metal theme. With these choices the background image and fonts will change to suit the
theme and the font of the widgets will also change to the chosen theme
Choosing the theme then applies it to the application and the man laws will from now on until changed be displayed with that theme.
Widget:
The widget when activated is to present the customers with a new man law every
hour to keep reminding them of Global Tools without the having to open the app.
