Wildlife Rescue
Wildlife Rescue is a nonprofit focusing on raising funds in the US for various bodies in South Africa trying to preserve endangered species, Rhinos in particular. The logo primarily had to inspire potential individuals to donate money to the non profit. Since the non profit was set up by a lawyer the logo marque was needed that would be unique enough to trademark since there are so many similar logos already existing.
I looked at the identities of other non profit bodies doing similar work.
Once I started sketching I narrowed down a concept that was different from the various logos above:
I purchased a stock icon to start with and then adapted it bit-by-bit to make it unique.
With shape and look of the Rhino sorted I started looking at color families:
Next came a type study of fonts that might match primitive feel:
Voila! The final logo in horizontal and vertical formats:
