Charles Whall's profile

Hawker Hurricane Mk1 'Battle of Britain'

Ireceived a commission to build this iconic fighter in the markings of a 17Sqn Hurricane N2359,YB*J, flown by P/O Stevens from Debden, 1940. This aircraft served with the unit between 6th June and 25th August 1940, when it was passed on to No6 OTU. Unusually for RAF fighters of this period, many in this unit had colourful artwork, one of the best examples being the famous 'winged Popeye'.
Working in 1:32 scale and working has given me the opportunity to learn and develop many new techniques – especially when it comes to weathering and finishing touches, not to mention being much easier on the eyes!
