World's End, Hingham
Cartography Center- site intervention

My intervention to the site is asequence of moments that capture the different phenomenons and views on thesite. The contrasting elements of the site are trees, grass, rocks, water, sun, wind, and shade. The indoor programmatic spaces are a product of these outdoorelements. The specific moments I want to capture are the views of the distant smallislands, Boston, Worlds End, Hull, Rocky Neck and the vast sky above.
The building is placedon top of Planter’s Hill, because this site has the most varying horizon linesand views. Through moving some spaces higher up on the horizon and others lowerdown it allows for varying moments. My goal is to highlight moments wheresomething emerges or disappears in the horizon by using contrasting materialsand sliding spaces up and down sectionally.
