Vote for Change Video Game

Project
Develop a branding campaign for Vote for Change (V4C), a non-profit organization that tries to entice young American voters (Millennials) to the polls. Given that Millennials are technology-oriented, V4C’s campaign centers around its main draw, a voting-themed mobile video game. V4C was the final project in my Masters program, and was created by a group of four. Thus, while the final project included a logo, posters, a video, and more, I was tasked mainly with creating the video game, and have chosen to display only the screenshots I developed.

As a video game targeted to Millennial voters, V4C needed to emulate popular mobile games, such as Hay Day and Clash of Clans; this meant bright colors, cartoon characters, and an intuitive interface. To compensate for the lack of screen space, the game menu uses only icons, which are introduced to the player by a non-player character (NPC) who then acts as the player’s guide throughout the game. As they progress through the game, the player will be able to earn experience points and in-game money, which they can then use to buy clothes/upgrades for their representative character; they may also earn extra rewards by attending political events in the real world. V4C was intended primarily as a mobile game, and was developed mostly with smartphones and tablets in mind. While the final project included many more screenshots than the ones displayed here, the mock-ups below cover the essentials.
