The Brief

Develop a “THING” that leverages NASA imagery and climate data to illustrate the impacts of our changing Earth in areas of interest to you.

NASA records huge amounts of data about our climate that’s useful for scientists around the world.

Everyday-people don’t know how to process this information, NASA has a language problem.

We asked, what’s the one way that every human being, across all cultures, can communicate incredibly complex information, even babies?

Facial expressions.

If a picture can tell a thousand words, then an expressive look can convey millions of data points.

So we built a site that gives real time updates on what NASA data is saying about our climate, but the data is conveyed in a simple language, Earth based Face Data.

For example if NASA data shows an increase in global temperatures than the Earth appears worried.

The site takes into account social media to show how much focus we’re putting on the environment socially and in the news.

The site also generates a continuos Earth mood soundtrack, using the metadata in tracks on Spotify.

Just showing the data isn’t enough. We leave visitors with positive information that they can implement, which will lead to a happier Earth.
