Second Mural for Dutch housing association Nijestee
In the summer of 2012 I was asked again to make a mural in a portico. The first one was a parrot, but this time I was allowed to use the entire space, all the walls in the portico. That was such a nice challenge! I visited the people that lived there and realized there were a lot of children. The space itself had a very cold feeling, and so I decided to bring some happiness to it. The idea was to bring some nature back into the building, by painting trees and animals. A tree started to grow, and another one. Birds nested in them, and a deer, a rabbit and a squirrel wandered through their shade. Butterflies and other insects finished the whole thing. The trees grow from the ground floor all the way up to the top floor, and it has become such a pleasure passing through this portico!
First Mural for Dutch housing association Nijestee.
In the beginning of 2012 I was invited to make a mural in a portico of housing company Nijestee. I visited the people that  were living in the portico, and came to know all about their wish to have a big parrot in their hallway. Not a real one, but a painted one. And so, I started looking for a good picture of a red macaw and made a design, combining my own style with the realistic look of the bird. The people were very glad with the result, and so I started to paint it onto their wall. The macaw now brightens up the entire portico, which is very rewarding. Thank you Nijestee!

Mural for De Drie Gezusters
In the summer of 2011 I was asked to paint a 6 meter wall. The painting should be all about the Maori's and about New Zealand. Since I like to dive into tribal cultures, I was only too happy to accept, even though I had never painted an tropical island and parrots before. I think it worked out just great!
