For this assignment, I wanted to recreate The 1975's second album. I chose to have their signature symbol, the rectangle, be the front cover of the CD, with white and pink flowers, with a posterized effect, surrounding it. Their new style for this album is a lot more bright and vibrant compared to their last album, which was all black and white, so I wanted this color scheme to reflect their new image.
For the inside of the booklet, I took images that the band has posted online in promotion for the album. I put a posterize effect on all of the images and overlapped them. The images contain lyrics to some of the songs on the album. I wanted the inside to look a little cluttered and chaotic to counteract the dainty and polished outside.
For the front of the traycard, I wanted to have a single image, again, it is a promotional image the band has posted on social media, with a posterized effect. It is a little darker than the rest of the photos as it contains more blue than pink, but against a white CD, I wanted the colors to pop.
This is the back on the traycard that contains the list of songs on the album. This photo also has a posterized effect to it, and continues the pink theme that the album has throughout.
