This is perhaps the most precious and personal project I have had the pleasure of working on. I spent a few months interviewing my grandmother, going through her photos, and taking note of milestones in her life history in order to write and design this book. I cherish the idea that by looking through this book, strangers and especially future generations of my family will be able to get a sense of who my grandmother is and what her life has been like. I firmly believe that passing stories on to the next generation is an important tradition, as it provides perspective. Through the process of producing this book, I fostered a closeness with my grandmother that I had yearned for previously. I hope that the book inspires people to explore their own family stories and find ways to pass them on to the next generation.
