Cog: Intelligent Eating Delivered

Brief
Often, people who have demanding jobs or are studying struggle to eat the right things. They find themselves reaching for junk food that is high in sugar, fat and carbohydrates. Although this option is convenient, it has the negative effect of leaving one feeling sluggish and struggling to concentrate, whilst energy levels are not sustained. With so much of the focus the food industry on dieting, it is time that some attention is given to the potential that food has to boost brain function. There is little education on which foods can aid concentration, which is an issue that must be tackled.

The intention of this project is to create a design solution that educates people on which foods improve brain function and which is compatible with a busy lifestyle and work schedule.

Chosen Route
Through my research I discovered that in order to produce and maintain brain cells, the body requires high levels of zinc, magnesium and omega-3 which can be found in foods such as crab, spinach and flaxseeds respectively. I have therefore created a lunchtime delivery service aimed at busy professionals that provides customers with 100% of their daily requirement of these three essential nutrients. The company in named ‘Cog’ and customers will subscribe to either weekly or monthly plans. Different meals tailored to their taste and dietary requirements will be delivered daily with new recipes being created each month. The packaging is designed to be ergonomic so that it will stack well as it will be transported by bicycle.
