Gyimah Gariba & Victoria Siemer - Make It on Mobile

Photoshop Mix
Adobe invited artists Gyimah Gariba and Victoria Siemer (in addition to 14 other artists) to work together and finish two poster designs based on principles they felt expressed an aspect of their creative process. They were tasked to use iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and Creative Cloud mobile apps. Over the course of two days, this is what they accomplished.

"Inspiration everywhere"
By Gyimah Gariba
Gyimah used Illustrator Draw, Photoshop Sketch, Photoshop Fix, and Photoshop Mix to complete his piece.

Victoria: “We went to Central Park and the cherry blossoms were really pretty, so we got some really cool shots of those because I have a photo background, and Gyimah is the illustrator. So he just pointed and guided me to what he wanted, and he got a nice pile of photos to choose from.”

Gyimah: "Victoria handed me all these beautiful photos of cherry blossoms, and I wanted to do something that integrated photography and animated characters where they interacted with the space. I used a lot of the Photoshop editing tools after drawing the characters in Illustrator Draw, so that they didn’t look like stickers on top of the photograph.”

"Somewhere out there"
By Victoria Siemer
Victoria used Illustrator Draw to create the typography in her piece, and did photo editing work with Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Mix.

Victoria: "I shot a portrait and brought it into my phone and ran with it--with the outerspace vibe and constellation type, which was quite meticulous. I used Illustrator Draw for that but next time I think I’ll make a brush!”
