For the poster project, I wanted to do a piece on one of my favorite bands, Van Halen.  I wanted to create something that encompassed the vibe of the band if they were going on tour.  I made sure that there were primarily dark colors with hints of red and the “frankenstrat” paintjob.  I had to create a custom pattern to make the frankenstrat pattern, and I threw it on guitar picks, as well as the font of the date.  I wanted to make it eye pleasing, and not too busy.  I also wanted to make it a bit gritty, which is why I added the image trace in black and white as well as add the brick texture in the background.  It definitely captures the vibe of the band, and also makes the poster look a bit more realistic.
