Impromptu Artwork: Drops of Miura

The inspiration purpose that I followed during the making of this drawing is the research of a new modern identity for Lamborghini Brand. The Asterion concept, introduced in 2014, shows a strong memory of the early years, when there was yet no sign of the sharp design that began in 1972 with Countach then developed even stronger until today.
The aggressive and innovative spirit that belongs to Lamborghini can show up even through the memory of the more classical beginnings, which can be translated into expressions of new technological inventions.
The choice of “Drops of Miura” as a title of my artwork is a tribute to a Lamborghini that upset the World in 1968, by transferring into ordinary production some racing features like the central position of the engine and the general philosophy of the project. The influence on the design of the coachwork fired Marcello Gandini's inspiration, then his ideas were brougth into reality by Master Cachbuilder Nuccio Bertone and the result was nothing but stunning.
Many design details strongly connect the Miura with contemporary age, but the revolutionary contents of the car made a classical styling become an explosive expression of futurism.
The “drops of Miura” falling down on my drawing want to create a Lamborghini design which expresses personality through smooth lines, along with sharp and raw edges that highlight some new contents, as well as styling details to recall the best of Bull's producion.
The new features are about the front, where we see the double wing “framed” by a simple oval layout that recalls the main air intake of the Miura; then we have the aerodynamic working of the rear, where it's quite visible the influence of my latest study on Aston Martin Stonehenge concept, that's published in my blog. This Lamborghini shares with the Stonehenge the air ducts between the rear wheels and the central engine unit, with the result of a bodywork that looks as split into three different volumes and not as a single body.
