“DSM - Ortopedika” is a Macedonian multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing and sales of footwear. DSM’s original visual identity was outdated and they contacted us to define and enhance its looks including the corporate logo, packaging and brand identity.
The old logo is consisted of a playful snail, so our approach was to keep their iconic snail but make it more minimal, modern and timeless. Improve the color scheme and enhance the overall brand.
When we started on the sketching and brainstorming process, we knew we had to keep the snail, but started experimenting with how to incorporate footwear in the logo. This just a fraction of our sketches and some comic doodles from the project. From the mountain of sketches we finally landed on 3 versions.
Our main focus was on the footwear packaging. We ended up making a “normal” version for adult footwear and a more playful version for children’s footwear. For the stationary we kept everything minimal and focused on the strong main color. Check out some examples below.
