Project for the Regional Council of Engineering and Architecture of Paraná, located in Curitiba, PR - Brazil. The proposal is developed by the complexity of uses and function of the CREA-PR building. We opted for the L-shape, dividing the building basically into two sectors: Plenary and administrative sector. One important point of the project is the square of access to sectors, with green area, living space, access ramp and water features located under the administrative sector.
Prioritizing environmental comfort and thermal control, in addition to large green areas, a vertical circulation block coated vegetation was designed. Large free spaces in the extension of the administrative sector form full and empty places, creating comfortable spaces, which pervade the built environment and decrease walking distances. In addition to providing a less monotonous scenario, the configuration of these free spaces facilitates the arrangement of surrounding ambiences.
A large deck surrounds the administrative block, providing a connecting space between the work area and the square. For the two blocks have been proposed three vertical circulation structural. The building envelope is done by glass, coated perforated metal panels and horizontal blinds on the west side and part of the north face. The slabs on steel deck are framed by beams and metal pillars positioned in modules.
The Plenary block, main building site meetings, allows the union of various levels of employees and the external public in a pleasant way. Under the same reasoning - to provide a pleasant environment for meetings that occur by chance - it was designed an imposing terrace with visuals to the square and the surrounding city.
