“Canada’s top ten” short films for 2015.
Film director Patrice Laliberté contacted us to design the poster and closing credits of his film Viaduc.
Police chase Mathieu after he scrawls graffiti on an overpass, but the teenager's midnight marauding has a purpose that only he understands. This deeply moving family drama captures the power of self-expression in the midst of upheaval. – Danis Goulet
Our idea was to design a bold and graphic visual for the movie, far from the traditional photographic approach used in the industry.
The use of bold typography combined with the main character’s silhouette mirrors the film’s impactful message while providing contrasting visuals for the viewer. We also designed a custom typeface for the title.
The poster of the film was a real success. After the release of Viaduc, the film won at national and international competitions including the TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). The poster was awarded the prestigious Communication Arts and the Type Directors Club of New York.
