The manifestos gathered here are an experiment aimed at taming, averting and positioning the unhinged concept of the speculative turn, that has found followers imbued by an almost prophetic zeal. The manifestos strive to achieve that goal by stating just one assertion.
These assertions can be ironic or humorous, serious, personal, obvious or just banal.
This is because these manifestos are as diverse as the cultural backgrounds of the master students at the University of the Arts Bremen that have met at the Seminary for Media Theory held at the International Degree Course for Digital Media, where they authored these manifestos.
20 students have written 20 Manifestos.

They are publised in a booklet.

1. The New Aesthetics must bring the interpretation of the digital world to the physical world.
2. The New Aesthetics should change the way you see the world by making you as confused as possible.
3. The New Aesthetics is art made by digital artists to other digital artists to hate.
4. The New Aesthetics is image-processing for Media Designers.
5. The artworks must be shallow, day-to-day basic digital problems, which are not meant to be of high importance or even dare people to analyze it or think about it.
6.The artist shall expect extreme criticism around your work on blogs who nobody reads unless you are a New Aesthetics wannabe artist or designer.
7. The artist is expected to answer back to those overstated critics on another well-founded blog entry.
8. The artist is the hipster of the art world.
9. The artist is not a hipster you are a digital artist.
