Challenge: Corpus Christi is a Spanish religious event. Although the event takes place all over Spain, each town has a different way of celebrating. The events are uncommon and strange to a stranger, but very important to the people of the town. For example, in the small town of Castrillo de Murcia, the village men dress as devils in yellow jumpsuits and jump over lines of babies laid out in the streets. For this project, Posters for each of the events will be created, as well as a book that features and describes each of these town’s unique events.

Process: The posters were inspired by old Spanish pottery designs, and hand painted in ink. Each drawing features a different towns event. The 3 shown in the book are El Colacho, L’ou Com Balla, and the church where Corpus Christi was first celebrated.

Solution: The final Ink drawing posters are intriguing. At a glance you see a lavish drawing, but on closer look you find strange events taking place. These strange events are nothing but tradition to the people of Spain.
