The Brief:
Design a film poster for the Puttnam School of Film Student's BA3 thesis movie. My assigned movie is a poetic documentary titled "Murtad." The film documents the struggles and pain of four individuals face when they choose to leave their religious faith. They face isolation from family and friends and experience hurt and loneliness.
The Concept:
My concept for this film poster is to portray the pain and turmoil that these four individuals experience. I wanted to show the agony through the medium of painting.
Deliverables:
A2 poster, movie press kit and DVD sleeve.
Final poster outcome for the film. The main image is painted on canvas with acrylic paint. The title "Murtad" is treated in a hand painted typeface to complete the poster. Printed on 170gsm paper.
Press kit design. An a4 size trifold brochure that includes synopsis, director's message, screenshots from the film, actor's infomationa and production credits. Underside is a print of the film's movie poster.
DVD sleeve and cd design.
